With nearly 20 years of experience, Hazem Helal led the creation & execution of several commercial strategies in different multinational and regional companies, including “Procter & Gamble” (2004-2016) where he served in the role of Commercial Director Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan & Iraq.
Following P&G, he became the Managing Partner of out of z box (2016-2018), for Middle East & Africa, consulting CEOs of top multinational and regional companies on strategy, business modeling, organization plans & communication.
Hazem later-on shifted career to real-estate, and joined “Mountain View” as the company’s Commercial Director (2018-2022), reshaping its go-to-market strategy & sales operations, as a key pillar enabling the unprecedented growth from 2 Billion EGP sales in 2018 to 30+ Billions in 2022.
Starting 2023, Hazem Helal founded “Potentializer”, aiming to enable businesses and organizations to realize their potential, through revamping commercial strategies and through creating talent development programs.
In parallel, Hazem currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of “El Ahly Sports Facilities Company”, the newly created company responsible for brining-to-life the Club of the Century’s future Stadium.
Hazem serves as well as an independent board-member in different public and private companies; he is a core-member in the Amcham real-estate committee, and is an angle investor and a mentor to many startups in Egypt.
On a different note, pursuing his love for Chess, Hazem founded “Zayed Chess Club”, in a step to bring together a chess community who shares the affection of the royal game.
Hazem is a graduate of the Engineering School in the American University in Cairo (2003), and he is an alumni of Harvard Business School (2022)
Passionate about Math & Physics, I later graduated from AUC with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. Nevertheless, I chose to spend most of my university years in a variety of student-led activities. I never regretted this choice; and it is still my number one advice to undergrads.
I joined Procter & Gamble in 2004 right after my graduation.. but instead of joining P&G plant, which seemed the natural choice, I decided to shift and started in the sales department. Over the next 12 years, I worked in 8 different roles, growing business and organizational scope year after year. A decade leader, I became the Regional Commercial Director of Fabric & Home categories in Near East markets, a dynamic 400$ Million business.
In 2016, I decided to take a break from the corporate life and established my own consultancy company, and partnered up with "out of z box", leading the business in Middle East. During this entrepreneurial adventure, it was very interesting to learn & influence the strategies, business models and communication plans of global companies in different sectors.
In the summer of 2018, I shifted career to real estate, and I was appointed the Commercial Director of Mountain View, a brand that I am in love with. Over the following 5 years, in what will be written one day as an exceptional case-study in the history of real estate in Egypt, I was honored to lead the sales transformation of Mountain View, from 2 Billion EGP in 2018, to 5B in 2019, to 10B in 2020 (the COVID year), to 20 Billion in 2021 to 31 Billion EGP Sales in 2022, jumping the rank from being # 17 in the market in 2018 to the top 3 developers in Egypt.
Following a mission to help others pursue their own dreams, I launched Potentializer in January 2023, with an objective to enable businesses and people realize their potential, through business consultancy, people development, GTM execution in addition to investing in SMEs & Startups.
In parallel, I also serve as the CEO of “El Ahly Sports Facilities Company”, the newly created company by El Ahly Club, responsible for bringing-to-life the dream of the future Ahly Stadium.
